Lyrics

Floating out on the Irish Sea
Coming in as the waves hit the beach
Are flotsam memories
Of a Fleetwood woman and a Fleetwood man

Seagulls cry over the Wyre
Like the devil’s unholy choir
And they feed my desire
For a Fleetwood woman and a Fleetwood man

The old man worked the sea
With the crew of the Rosa Maris
He wanted the same thing for me
That was the plan for a Fleetwood man

The ebb and flow of the tide
Like the ups and the downs of her life
Through it all there was pride
The Fleetwood woman for her Fleetwood man

When he was lost at sea
With the crew of the Rosa Maris
All that he left her was me
The only child of a Fleetwood widow

All things have their day
Like the steamboats and trawlers and trains
Still through it all there remains
The Fleetwood woman for the Fleetwood man

[(C)2011 Glyn Bailey]

Released 24 July 2011

Words, music and vocal – Glyn Bailey
‘Seagull’ Guitar – Phil Senior
‘Flotsam’ Keyboards – Jamie Singleton
‘Steamboat’ Bass – John Gardner
‘Trawler’ Drums – Neil Cotton
